1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the SpendGrid - Expense Tracker mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial financial tracking purposes on a device owned or controlled by you.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App except as allowed by law
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use the App in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights
- Interfere with the operation or security of the App
3. App Features
The App currently includes features such as:
- Transaction tracking and categorization
- Financial charts and spending insights
- Budget tracking and calendar view
- Multi-currency support — search and switch between currencies worldwide
- Data export functionality (CSV)
- iCloud Backup — manually back up and restore your data across your Apple devices via iCloud Drive (see Section 4)
- Secure, on-device data storage
- SpendGrid Pro subscription (see Section 5)
We may add, remove, or change features at any time.
4. User Data, iCloud Backup, and Responsibility
You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into the App.
You are solely responsible for the data you enter, export, or share. We are not responsible for any loss of data due to app deletion, device failure, or other technical issues.
4.1 iCloud Backup
The App offers an optional iCloud Backup feature that saves your data (transactions and budgets) as files to your private iCloud Drive. Backups and restores are manual — you control when they happen from Settings → iCloud Backup. No data is transferred automatically.
By using iCloud Backup, you agree to Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions. We are not responsible for data loss or unavailability caused by Apple's iCloud service.
You are responsible for maintaining an active iCloud account with sufficient storage if you wish to use this feature.
Backup files stored in iCloud Drive are not automatically deleted if you uninstall the App. To remove them, delete the files via the Files app or via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
4.2 Data Recovery
We recommend periodically creating a backup using the iCloud Backup feature and also exporting your data as a CSV file for an additional local copy. iCloud Backup is provided as a convenience feature and not as a guaranteed data recovery solution.
5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions (SpendGrid Pro)
The App offers an optional premium upgrade called SpendGrid Pro ("Pro"), available through the following plans:
- Monthly: Billed every month. Cancel anytime.
- Annual: Billed yearly. Includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.
- Lifetime: A single, one-time purchase with no recurring charges.
Pro features include, but are not limited to: an ad-free experience, spending insights and charts, calendar view, and budget tracking.
5.1 Billing and Renewal
Payment for your selected plan is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase confirmation. Subscriptions (Monthly and Annual plans) automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Renewal charges are applied to your Apple ID account within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
5.2 Free Trial
The Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your Apple ID will be charged for the Annual plan. Only one free trial is available per Apple ID per offer.
5.3 Managing and Cancelling Subscriptions
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access to Pro features continues until that date.
5.4 Restoring Purchases
Use the "Restore Purchases" option within the App to re-activate a Pro subscription or Lifetime purchase linked to your Apple ID on a new or reinstalled device.
5.5 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not issue refunds directly. Refund requests must be made to Apple in accordance with their purchase policies.
5.6 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. Price changes will be communicated in advance and will take effect at your next renewal date.
6. Third-Party Content, Ads, and Services
The free tier of the App may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Pro subscribers are not shown banner or interstitial advertisements. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for any third-party products or content advertised within the App.
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchase entitlements. By making a purchase, you acknowledge that RevenueCat will receive anonymized receipt information from Apple to verify your subscription status.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, software, branding, text, and graphics, is owned by Janki Kachhiya or their licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that the financial calculations provided will always be 100% accurate for legal or tax purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Janki Kachhiya will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising out of or related to your use of the App.
10. Apple App Store — Additional Terms
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. The following terms apply in relation to Apple:
- These Terms are concluded between you and Janki Kachhiya only, not with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession or use of the App, including: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; or (c) claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, or discharge of such claim.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (e.g., your wireless data service agreement).
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
